For those who would like to experience V24 racing without actually owning a boat, there are several RYA Basic races for V24s this season. You will still have to pass your Dunk test (contact Andark Diving on 01489 581755 or visit www.andark.com for more details) but this gives an opportunity to race as a navigator using an RYA Day Licence. These races are also a superb chance to get more race miles under your belt without any championship points being at stake. If you are interested in taking part, please contact Mark Sanderson on 023 92 221133 for more details.

UIM V Class European Championship
The Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM) is the international governing body for offshore racing. The V24 boat has been approved as for a one design racing series called V Class. This means that the boat can take part in races at international meetings. In just its second season the V24 class has been given European Championship status by the UIM underlining the importance of the V24 class in International racing. It is anticipated that a V Class World Championship will be run in 2005/6.

Not just a race boat…
While its hull design and inbuilt canopy give the V24 the edge in terms of comfort and safety for racing, it is also a great recreational sportsboat. In just a few minutes the two gull-wing doors can be removed and the V24 becomes the best looking pleasure boat on the water!
